Nicholas Bernard James Adam McGarry Byrne Jr.[1] (born 9 October 1978 in Dublin) is the oldest member of the popular Irish pop group, Westlife.
In 1997, he auditioned for a new Irish boy band, where he was spotted by Boyzone manager Louis Walsh. Walsh invited him to join his new project, Westlife. He was a member of Westlife along with Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan and Brian McFadden.
Nicky Byrne is the eldest brother of Westlife. He is best known as a singer, but Nick used to be a footballer. He played for the Republic of Ireland and Leeds United. In 1997, the singer left the team and joined Westlife a year later.

After Westlife in 2012, Nicky Byrne had a quiet time. He returned to music when he participated in the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the song Sunlight but did not make it to the final.
Nicky then moved on to host shows such as Football’s Next Star, The Hit, Dancing With The Stars… In 2018, he won two awards for Best Male Presenter and Best TV Show with Dancing With The Stars at the Goss.ie magazine awards.
Like Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne had a sweet and faithful love story with his childhood friend Georgina Ahern. In 2003, the couple got married with the blessings of many people. After four years of living together, they welcomed twin boys. In 2013, Nicky Byrne and his wife had another baby girl.
