Some Internet users claimed that the unfortunate incident occurred on a highway in Mérida, Yucatán.

Following the rise of bumper-to-bumper accidents , some drivers installed video cameras in their cars to monitor what happens while they’re driving and thus hold those responsible accountable.  These devices also allow for the documentation of tragic events , such as the one that began to spread on social media.

In the aforementioned video, you can see the moment when
two vehicles, one gray and one white, began dodging cars  that were driving at a reasonable speed. Unfortunately,
one of the vehicles involved lost control and ended up going off the road.

The speed caused
the crashed vehicle to begin to disintegrate, and one of the occupants was even thrown into the air.  Despite the driver’s efforts to stop his car, there was little he could do to avoid the crash, as the vehicle began to spin across the road.

Did a viral accident occur on a highway in Mérida, Yucatán?

The images caught the attention of users, who were shocked by the severity of the accident. However,  the incident occurred in  Malaysia, not in Mérida as initially thought. It all happened on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 3,  at approximately 1:10 p.m., according to Fuerza Informativa Azteca.

So far, the video has  more than two million views  on X, where you can read comments like “If the car recording is going 125 km/h, then the white car is going 150 km/h, easily. The person recording should have reduced their speed, from the moment they overtake, they never slow down, even more so if they have family, that’s also reckless” or “ The importance of all passengers wearing a seatbelt, including those in the back seat .”
