An autopsy of the siblings murdered in Bogotá indicated that Darwin Felipe Beltrán had attacked his children in different ways.
The children’s father and suspect of committing the murders, according to authorities, could face a sentence of 50 years in prison, for not admitting his guilt after the hearing of charges.

Amid the series of crimes and abuses against children reported in October 2024 in Colombia, a report by authorities revealed new details about how Darwin Felipe Beltrán, captured and charged by the Prosecutor’s Office, allegedly murdered his own children, Santi Esteban and Susan Camila.
Due to the filicide, which occurred in a house in the Las Ferias neighborhood, in the town of Engativá (northwest of Bogotá), on October 28, the suspect was almost lynched by the community .
With the results of the forensic analysis, this subject could be even more devastated than he is now, based on the videos and testimonies collected by investigators from the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), which is leading the investigation. They hope that justice will convict the man, who was the only person with the two minors inside the home.
According to investigations, this double homicide may have been linked to a jealous rage on the part of Beltrán, who saw his partner walking down one of the neighborhood’s streets with another man.
Before the children’s mother arrived at the residence, Beltrán arrived at the house and allegedly committed the crime with blows and a knife, according to the description of the events that were revealed by the same Prosecutor’s Office and revealed by El Tiempo.

The results of the autopsies
Thanks to autopsies conducted by the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, authorities compiled a report revealing that the minors were murdered under different circumstances and were attacked in different ways, Caracol News reported.
This report will be one of the key pieces with which the investigative body will seek a definitive conviction of Beltrán, who pleaded not guilty after the arraignment hearing, and for this reason could carry a sentence of up to 50 years in prison. This man’s final destination is La Tramacúa, the notorious penitentiary center located in Valledupar, Cesar.
According to the findings of the post-mortem examination , the 4-year-old boy suffered several blows , while the 7-year-old girl was stabbed with the knife several times.
The impact of the investigation was such that when they entered the home where the children’s bodies were found, in the Las Ferias neighborhood, they even found a note that read “I love you,” allegedly left by Beltrán. As if such a vile act could be justified.
The knife used to commit the filicide was also found at the scene, and is part of a series of pieces of evidence that will be presented at the hearing in which this man is expected to confess to the crime to some of the officers who initially arrested him, according to witnesses and local residents.

However, after the arraignment hearing, he decided not to accept the charges, further provoking the repudiation of Colombian society , given all the evidence that implicates him as the material author of the filicide.
Another piece of evidence against Darwin Felipe Beltrán is a video
A security camera video has revealed crucial moments in the alleged murder of two children in Bogotá. The images show Darwin Felipe Beltrán, the children’s father, entering the home in the Las Ferias neighborhood where the filicide allegedly took place. This footage has become another key piece in the investigation being conducted by the Attorney General’s Office.
The video, captured around 5 p.m., shows Beltrán leaving the house after allegedly murdering his 4- and 7-year-old children. According to authorities, the motive for the crime was a fit of rage after discovering his partner with someone else.
In the footage, Beltrán is seen wearing a plaid shirt, violently leaving and re-entering the home, which coincides with the moment the children’s mother learned of the tragic event.
The mother’s reaction, also captured on video, is heartbreaking. She is seen rushing into the house and leaving, shaken and crying. In her desperation, she appears to inform a nearby neighbor, who reacts by closing the front door to prevent Beltrán from escaping.
This case has shocked the community of the Las Ferias neighborhood and prompted a massive effort by authorities to clarify the events. The Prosecutor’s Office continues to gather evidence and testimony to advance the judicial process against Beltrán, who is the prime suspect in the double homicide.
