The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Hidalgo (PGJEH) has deactivated the Search Report for BARM, a 22-year-old man who disappeared on June 1 in the city of Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo.

The skeletal remains were found in a location in the municipality of Mineral de la Reforma. On June 10, in a ravine in the community of El Velillo, on the border with San Guillermo la Reforma, forensic authorities and the State Police arrived at the site. However, it was not immediately known whether they belonged to this individual. Family and friends remained hopeful of finding him alive.

The remains were discovered after the arrest of a suspect suspected of being involved in BARM’s disappearance. According to unofficial sources, the detainee allegedly provided key information about the location of the body, indicating the exact location in a hard-to-reach area in Mineral de la Reforma.

Following the discovery, forensic experts from the Attorney General’s Office went to the site to examine the remains, which were in an advanced state of decomposition. Initial observations indicated that the remains could have been partially devoured by the local wildlife, which complicated their immediate identification.

BARM’s family had reported him missing since June 1, when he was last seen in the municipality of Zempoala. However, there is also an unofficial version detailing his last location was on Everardo Márquez Boulevard, where he was driving his vehicle. From that moment on, search protocols were activated and the corresponding tickets were issued, generating intense mobilization on social media and in the community to locate him.

BARM’s mother even approached Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum during her recent visit to the municipality of Tulancingo de Bravo, Hidalgo state. Her plea was to expedite the investigation to determine her son’s whereabouts and those responsible.

Once BARM’s identity was confirmed through forensic testing, the remains were returned to his family. “Just as I once asked for your help to find him, today I thank you with all my heart for all your help. We found my boy, and today we will take him to the La Paz memorial. Thank you for your prayers,” his mother wrote on social media.
