
A tragic domestic accident claimed the life of a two-year-old child on the afternoon of Monday, June 16, in the Campichuelo Puerto neighborhood, located in the Cambyretá district, in southern Paraguay.
The boy fell into a well on the grounds of his home, causing an emergency situation that mobilized local authorities and rescue teams.
The victim was a two-year-old boy, son of Carlos Alberto González, a resident of the building where the incident occurred. The child was identified by his family after his rescue and subsequent transfer to the medical center.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16. The home where the fall occurred is located in the Campichuelo Puerto neighborhood, in the Cambyretá district of the Itapúa department.
After the fall, volunteer firefighters immediately intervened and managed to extract the child from the well. The boy was rushed to the Encarnación Regional Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, his death was confirmed at 6:45 p.m. The on-call pediatrician, Dr. Elisa Núñez, reported that the probable cause of death was drowning.
In order to clarify the circumstances of the incident, the corresponding judicial protocols were activated.
Prosecutor Griselda González arrived at the scene, accompanied by technicians from the Criminalistics Department, who conducted a technical and photographic survey of the scene. The investigation was led by officers from the 41st Campichuelo Police Station, who are in charge of the investigation.
The tragic death caused deep consternation in the local community.
