Oh my God! It was his father-in-law. Come see what he did to him …
Yasmin Andrade Pinheiro
A case of femicide involving extreme violence was reported last Wednesday, April 10, 2025, in the municipality of Irecê, in the state of Bahia, Brazil.
The incident also involved an attempted murder of a teenager. The Bahia Civil Police, through the Irecê Territorial Delegation (14th COORPIN), opened a formal investigation under incident report number 274.078/2025 and police file number 31.518/2025.
The fatal victim was Yasmin Andrade Pinheiro, a 31-year-old woman, who died after being attacked by her ex-father-in-law, identified as Fábio Batista da Silva, 55. Yasmin’s son, a 13-year-old boy with the initials JGAP, was also hit during the attack but managed to survive after receiving emergency medical attention.

The crime occurred on Rua Rio Capiberibe, located in the Recanto das Árvores neighborhood, around 8:20 p.m. According to reports from the Integrated Communications Center (CICOM), the victim had an argument with the attacker moments before the incident. As she tried to leave the scene with her son, they were both run over by the attacker, who then got out of the vehicle and attacked them with a knife.
According to initial investigations, Fábio Batista da Silva blamed Yasmin for the behavior of one of his sons, who allegedly had links to criminal activities and was murdered years earlier. This alleged influence was the possible trigger for the crime. To date, the perpetrator remains at large, and the Civil Police continue their efforts to locate him.
Authorities have already issued the corresponding forensic reports, and the case is being treated as a completed femicide and attempted homicide of a minor. The Irecê Territorial Delegation is keeping the investigation open and is coordinating operations to locate the perpetrator.
