The bodies of Azeneth Alfonso Martínez, 20, and Luis Javier Guzmán Barragán, 25, arrived in the community of Minzapan in the municipality of Pajapan, 10 days after they were found dead in Nuevo León, where they had traveled in search of a better quality of life, but only found death.
On November 10, this young couple was found dead in their home in the municipality of El Carmen, Nuevo León. Their bodies were already in an advanced state of decomposition.

Javier worked as a welder and Azeneth worked for an industrial company. Their death shocked neighbors and coworkers who commented that they were a happy and respectful couple.
Investigations by Nuevo León authorities indicate that the bodies were wrapped in plastic bags, suggesting their deaths were due to asphyxiation, as they did not show any gunshot wounds or injuries.
Relatives raised funds to travel to the state of Nuevo León and bring the couple back to their hometown. It was established that they had been married in a civil ceremony just a few days before and were planning their church union on December 26.
The couple’s remains arrived in Minzapan on the night of Wednesday, November 20, where they were held for a few hours with their family and friends. Later, on Thursday morning, they were buried in the community cemetery.
